Meet Lindsey
Lindsey Larsen is a ballerina, innovator, spokesperson and teacher. She a junior at the University of Utah majoring in ballet performance and minoring in kinesiology. Lindsey currently serves as Miss Utah County, is a former Miss Lehi 2019-2020 and received second runner up at Miss Utah 2021. She is the head coach of a Special Olympics DanceSport class and is partnered with the Utah County Health Department where she speaks to schools on the importance of movement and Brain Breaks in our educational systems. She is an advocate for bettering our mental and physical health through movement and advocates across the state of Utah.
BALLERINA
Lindsey Larsen’s initial ballet training began at age four and includes training with Barlow Arts Conservatory and with Ballet West Academy Thanksgiving Point, sponsored by the Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation. During her years with Ballet West Academy, Lindsey trained under the direction of Jennie Creer King and Maricar Drilon and was a recipient of multiple merit scholarships. As a young student, Lindsey enjoyed performing in The Washington Ballet’s “Cinderella” as the role of an Autumn Fairy Corps Member, several years in Ballet West’s “The Nutcracker”, and had numerous performing opportunities through Ballet West Academy including roles as Lilac Fairy and Lead Garland Fairy in “Sleeping Beauty”, and with Ballet West II as a Rosebud in “Beauty and the Beast”.
Lindsey has been privileged to receive training from Irena and Slawomir Wozniak, Alaine Haubert, Alexei Moskalenko, Pamela Robinson-Harris, Jan Fugit, Jessia Thompson, Lindsay Folkman, Albert Blaise Cattafi, Wilson Domingues, Zherlin Ndudi, and Calvin Kitten.
She has also attended summer intensive courses with the Washington Ballet under the artistic direction of Septime Weber, Ballet Hawaii, Master Ballet Academy, and Ballet West Academy.
Lindsey is currently a student at the University of Utah majoring in Ballet Performance. She is a ballet teacher at multiple studios in Utah County such as Ballet West Academy at Thanksgiving Point, COPA Performing Arts, The Dance Academy, and Aspire as well as being a private dance instructor.
SPOKESPERSON
In June 2019, Lindsey became Miss Lehi and later in August 2021 became Miss Utah County where she was a spokesperson for many different organizations as well as her Social Impact Initiative, The MOVEMENT Movement. Through her initiative, she was invited to appear on ABC4 Good Things Utah in October 2020 and again in February 2021 to share about the importance of dance and movement in classrooms.
She has visited 20+ elementary and high school classrooms, was invited to speak to schools across Utah County to teach 7+ hours as a guest PE Coach, completed over 125 speaking engagements and appearances, and teaches a biweekly adaptive dance program that she founded.
Lindsey has been an advocate for the Miss America Organization and has aided in the continuation of the Miss Utah County Scholarship Competition as it almost didn’t endure due to lack of funding. She met with Utah County Commissioners Bill Lee, Amelia Powers Gardner, and Tom Sakievich to ask for appropriations for the Miss Utah County Scholarship Competition and has been successful in helping this scholarship program continue.
As the current Miss Utah County and former Miss Lehi, Lindsey has served as an ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by raising over $1,000 and was recognized as a silver sponsor donor. She serves as a brand ambassador and partner with the Utah County Health Department, Special Olympics Utah, B3 powered by Select Health, SheTech, Compassion Mobility, Just for Kids of Utah County, Unified PE, Hammond Aesthetic Dentistry, and Balanced Skin Co.
